International Maritime Standards Act 2021
AN ACT to provide suitable mechanisms, and to allocate responsibilities, for discharging the Island’s obligations under international conventions.

Beneficial Ownership (Amendment) Act 2021
AN ACT to amend the Beneficial Ownership Act 2017 so as to separate the requirement to submit an annual statement of compliance from the requirement to submit an annual return under specified Acts.

Council of Ministers (Amendment) Act 2021
AN ACT to amend section 2(3)(b) of the Council of Ministers Act 1990.

Companies (Amendment) Act 2021
AN ACT to amend certain companies legislation so as to enable a company incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 to re-register under the Companies Act 1931; and to implement recommendations of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism.

Sexual Offences and Obscene Publications Act 2021
AN ACT to make new provision about sexual offences and their prevention; to amend the Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act 2010; and to provide for the detention and forfeiture of land vehicles, ships and aircraft in connection with trafficking in persons.

Justice Reform Act 2021
AN ACT to make new provision about the trial and sentencing of offenders and the procedures of the criminal courts; to place the Criminal Justice Board on a statutory footing; and to make fresh provision about judicial retirement.

International Co-operation (Protection from Liability) Act 2021
AN ACT to make provision for protection from liability against claims for damages, costs and consequential loss in cases where a public authority provides assistance pursuant to a request made by a relevant authority of a country or territory outside the Island.

Human Tissue and Organ Donation Act 2021
AN ACT to make provision about activities involving human tissue and the donation of human organs.

Sky Lanterns and Balloons (Prohibition) Act 2021
AN ACT to prohibit the sale, supply and release into the atmosphere of sky lanterns, to prohibit the release into the atmosphere of helium balloons and to provide for exemptions from such prohibitions.

Statute Law Revision Act 2021
AN ACT to repeal spent enactments, and make minor amendments and corrections to Manx enactments.

Road Traffic Legislation (Amendment) Act 2021
AN ACT to amend the Road Traffic Act 1985, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 and the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1984.

Adoption Act 2021
AN ACT to modernise the law relating to adoption.

Competition Act 2021
AN ACT to make provision about competition and the abuse of a dominant position in the market; to repeal and replace Part 2 of the Fair Trading Act 1996; and to make provision for mergers.

Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Act 2021
AN ACT to making further provision in relation to leasehold premises; to permit qualifying tenants to form a company through which to apply for a management order in respect of the premises of which they are tenants; and to permit qualifying tenants of premises to apply for a management order in respect of the premises.

Climate Change Act 2021
AN ACT to set a target year of 2050 and to make provision for the setting of interim targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; to make provision about the mitigation of climate change and the enhancement of natural carbon storage; to impose climate change duties on public bodies; to make provision for energy generation and energy use and for the reduction and recycling of waste.

Enterprise (Aviation and Merchant Shipping) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 2021
AN ACT to amend the Airports and Civil Aviation Act 1987 to amend the powers to make regulations and orders, and amend the enforcement and discretionary powers, under that Act; amend the Merchant Shipping (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1996 to permit the exemption, discount or deferral of fees payable under that Act; and repeal the Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) Act 1981.

Administration of Justice and Other Amendments Act 2021
AN ACT to amend the Administration of Justice Act 1981 to make provision for the keeping of a register of judgments and debts enforceable by a warrant for payment; to make certain other amendments relating to the disclosure of information for the purposes of the register of judgments and the enforcement of executions; and to amend the Summary Jurisdiction Act 1989 in respect of the register of sums adjudged to be paid on conviction.

Landlord Registration (Private Housing) Act 2021
AN ACT to provide for the registration of landlords and landlords’ representatives of private rented dwellings; for the application and enforcement of standards for landlords, landlords’ representatives and private rented dwellings; for the regulation and protection of occupancy deposits; and for the monitoring of the private rented sector.

Liquor Licensing and Public Entertainments Act 2021
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, the Licensing Act 1995, make provision for the regulation and supply of liquor and for the regulation of public entertainments.

The entertainment on Tynwald Day before and after the Ceremony is always a focal point for friends and family. The entertainment starts at 9am with all day activities including happening in Bunscoill Ghaelgagh, the Arboretum, Cooil y Ree as well as the stallholders on the back Fairfield.

Lots of locations around the main fairfield offer activities for everyone to join in for free. Outdoors on the Tynwald Green and the Royal Chapel there will be traditional Manx dancing, including the Grand Manx Dance, and live music from local silver bands, orchestra and choirs scheduled throughout the day.

The fairfield will also host music and dancing from local groups and don't forget the stage down in the Global Village in the Arboretum. Hosted by the One World Centre from 10am the Global Village offers food and entertainment from around the world.

Tywnald's roots lie in the Viking customs of those who settled in the Island in the tenth century and the Viking Village in Cooil y Ree offers a glimpse into what life was like a thousand years ago.

The TynwaldFest tent will be the focus for children's entertainment with a family craft workshop running from 10am with theatre and dance performances in the afternoon. The deckchairs will be out and we welcome everyone to stay for the dancing part of the evening.

From 5pm there will be local food and drink available and the live music starts - perfect for all the family. The activities on Tynwald Day are brought to a close at 10pm by the magnificent Ellan Vannin Pipes and Drums performing the Manx Anthem on Tynwald Hill.

• Dogs are allowed on the Fairfield​ and Front Green but there are restrictions in the Arboretum, Cooil y Ree and Department of Education, Sport and Culture grounds

The open-air sitting of Tynwald on 5th July continues a tradition which has lasted for over a thousand years. The ceremony’s roots are in the Viking customs of those who settled in the Island in the tenth century. Tynwald invites honoured guests from off-island to attend the religious service in the Chapel and the ceremony on Tynwald Hill itself showcasing Tynwald and the Isle of Man.

The traditional Tynwald Day ceremony begins when the participants in the parade assemble at St John's School ready to march up to line the processional way. The Lieutenant Governor arrives and receives the Royal Salute and inspects the Guard of Honour before laying a wreath on the War Memorial. 

Following the service the outdoor part of the ceremony begins with processions to Tynwald Hill. During the ceremony on the Hill the Acts are promulgated, Coroners are sworn in and there is an opportunity to present Petitions for Redress. Those assembled then process back to the church for a sitting of Tynwald, during which the Acts are captioned.

Parking

Parking for the general public will be available at St John's - see map.

Disabled Parking

There will be a designated area at St John’s School for reserved parking for persons in possession of a disabled badge. If you wish to apply for a parking pass (free of charge) please contact the Tynwald Administration Office 685500 or enquiries@tynwald.org.im The passes will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis and despatched two weeks prior to the Ceremony.

Accreditation

​As in previous years passes will be required for anyone attending the Tynwald Ceremony in the capacity of journalist/photographer on Tuesday 5th July 2022. Persons who are not accredited will not be permitted to enter the ceremonial precincts. In order to apply for accreditation, please contact this office - enquiries@tynwald.org.im​

Please note that applications must be received as soon​ as possible, but no later than Friday 24th June 2022. We can​not guarantee that applications received after this date will be process​ed.

1. Only accredited media representatives may photograph, film, record or broadcast within the ceremonial precincts during the Tynwald Ceremony at St John’s on Monday 5th July 2022.

2. Accredited media representatives must conduct themselves appropriately with the precincts, taking care not to cause any disruption or obstruction to proceedings.

3. Accredited media representatives must treat parliamentary staff and ceremony ushers with courtesy and consideration.

4. An appropriate standard of dress must be observed (office wear and ties for men).

5. Accreditation should be applied for annually and is not granted on a continuing basis.

6. Media Passes must be worn and visible at all times throughout the Ceremony. 

Interviews

1. Tynwald Members may make themselves available for interview prior to 10.15 am. 

2. Accredited media are asked not to attempt to interview Members of Tynwald or Official Guests from 10.15 am until the completion of the Ceremony. 

3. The Ceremony does not end until after the departure of the Lieutenant Governor. 

Access within the Ceremonial Precincts 

Access is permitted to accredited media representatives within certain areas of the Tynwald Ceremonial Precincts. Access will still be restricted on the Hill, in the Chapel. the War Memorial and the Ceremonial Way.

The Tynwald Day social media accounts will provide up-to-date information and images from events:
