Tynwald Day 2015
‘Our National Day is an extraordinary combination of the pageantry of significant parliamentary process and Fair day; it is a wonderful day out for all the family. I have been surprised to find that there are people who have never strayed from the Fair field on Tynwald Day to venture down to Cooil y Ree or the Arboretum or walked into the church or across the road into the Bunscoill Gaelgagh to enjoy the activities which celebrate our heritage or reflect our place in today's multicultural world. To those I would say: “You’re missing out on a lot of enjoyment!”

A host of attractions – all provided free of charge – will be on offer, ranging from a celebration of 65 years of the Women’s Institute in the Isle of Man, local history, culture and photography in the Manx Tent alongside Tynwald Hill to art activities, wood-carving workshops, face painting and Manx National Heritage’s iMusuem at the Bunscoill. There will also be an opportunity to win £100 in the Tynwald Day family quiz and to enjoy a wealth of Manx dance and musical entertainment, including a concert by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Collingwood.
The Vikings of Mann will, once again, establish their village in Cooil y Ree, providing a fascinating insight in their ancient way life and staging a ‘last man standing’ battle, while the Arboretum will be the setting for the One World Centre’s Global Village where visitors can enjoy song, dance and entertainment from different cultures linked to the Isle of Man and sample food from around the world.

Criminal Justice, Police Powers and Other Amendments Act 2014 which concerns the criminal law and criminal justice and the police.
Post Office (Amendment) Act 2014 which amends the powers of the Isle of Man Post Office.
Limited Liability Companies (Amendment) Act 2014 which amends the Limited Liability Companies Act 1996 to enable limited liability companies to be formed by one person and to have one member.
Copyright etc (Amendment) Act 2014 which amends the law relating to copyright and design right and rights in performances.
Representation of the People (Amendment) Act 2014 which amends the Representation of the People Act 1995 with respect to the number and boundaries of the constituencies for elections to the House of Keys and makes provision for their review.
Health Care Professionals Act 2014 which prescribes the manner in which certain health care professionals are required to be registered.
European Union (Amendment) Act 2014 which amends the European Communities (Isle of Man) Act 1973 consequential on the treaty concerning the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union and the Protocol on the concerns of the Irish people on the Treaty of Lisbon and enables the Council of Ministers to amend the list of treaties specified in the definition of “the Treaties” or “the EU Treaties” in section 1 of the Act and changes the Tynwald procedure for applying European Union instruments to the Island under section 2A of the Act and makes further provision in respect of orders made under that section which contain ambulatory references to European Union instruments.
Control of Employment Act 2014 which re-enacts with amendments the Control of Employment Act 1975.
Cabinet Office (Legislative Amendments) Act 2014 which amends various enactments consequential upon renaming the Chief Secretary's Office as the Cabinet Office
Terrorism and Other Crime (Financial Restrictions)Act 2014 which re-enacts with amendments the Terrorism (Finance) Act 2009 and the Terrorism Asset-Freezing etc. Act 2010 (Isle of Man) Order 2011 and parts of the Anti-Terrorism and Crime Act 2003 and amends further the Anti-Terrorism and Crime Act 2003 and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2008 and amends other legislation in connection with bail and sexual offences and the enforcement of fines and financial penalties.
Law Officers Act 2014 whichmakes further provision about the discharge of the functions of the Attorney General.
Public Services Commission Act 2015 which establishes a new body to be responsible for the employment of certain public sector employees.
Sewerage (Amendment) Act 2015 which amends the Sewerage Act 1999 to make provision for the levying of a sewerage rate.
Interpretation (Amendment) Act 2015 which amends the Interpretation Act 1976 with regard to the Attorney General.
Trusts (Amendment) Act 2015 which amends the Trustee Act 1961 to remove the requirement for there to be two individuals or a trust corporation acting as trustees in certain circumstances and amends the Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 1968 to remove the requirement for future dispositions to vest within a perpetuity period and amends the Settled Land Act 1891 as a consequence and amends the Trusts Act 1995 to widen the exclusions of foreign law concerning trusts governed by the law of the Island.
Road Races (Temporary Modification) Act 2015 which permitted motorcycle racing on the Billown Circuit on Sunday 31st May 2015.
Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2015 which amends the Road Traffic Act 1985 and the Building Control Act 1991.
Payment Services Act 2015 which provides for the regulation of payment service providers for the purposes of the Single Euro Payments Area.

Manx National Week
Manx National Week runs from 4th July - 12th July 2015 and includes the Manx National Day - Tynwald Day on 6th July.

Ceremony and Guests
The traditional Tynwald Day ceremony begins officially around 09.45 when the participants in the parade assemble at St John's School ready to march up to line the processional way. The Lieutenant Governor arrives just after 10.30 and receives the Royal Salute and inspects the Guard of Honour before laying a wreath on the War Memorial. Following the service the outdoor part of the ceremony begins with processions to Tynwald Hill. During the ceremony on the Hill the Acts are promulgated, Coroners are sworn in and there is an opportunity to present Petitions for Redress. Those assembled then process back to the church for sittings of Tynwald, during which the Acts are captioned, and the House of Keys. Petitions of Redress
There are two ways to submit a petition to Tynwald, a public petition and a Petition for Redress.
There is a page on the public website designed to guide anyone through the process. In all cases the Petitioner should contact the Clerk of Tynwald to ensure the petition is in good order.
