The Public Accounts Committee began this investigation in February 2024, but following this, the Manx Care Chair and Chief Minister both announced that reviews would be conducted into the organisation's governance. The Public Accounts Committee felt that having up to three concurrent reviews into the same subject was unlikely to add value, and has therefore suspended its investigation into health governance.
The overarching question which formed the scope of this inquiry was: is the healthcare system governance structure effective and efficient in ensuring and assuring that there is a healthcare system which is fit for purpose for the Island?
